IN-PERSON TRAINING
WCRP Contracts Workshop
2.5-hour interactive training!
Instructed by Chuck Boyd, WCRP Executive Director
OVERVIEW: We all know the best risk is transferred risk, but the indemnification, hold harmless, special
provisions and insurance requirements in a contract can be confusing and it’s difficult to know what language
and coverages to require and when to require them. While the WCRP reviews and provides feedback on
contracts throughout the year for member counties, this workshop goes a step further and gives attendees
the increased confidence they need for conducting their own reviews of indemnification language and
insurance requirements.
Learning Objectives:
• Learn how Risk Management reviews contracts and what they look for.
• Understand why insurance policy language is critical in contract reviews.
• Understand why insurance policy limits are critical when contracting with other parties.
• Gain confidence to put what you learn to use.
AUDIENCE: Risk Managers, Elected Officials, and department heads that may engage in contract discussions.
(WCRP members only).
CLASS SIZE: Minimum of 1-2 people and maximum of 30 people.
COST: This training is conducted by WCRP staff and is no cost to risk pool members.
